Gluta-what?
Glutathione!
For the nerds:
Glutathione is a tri-peptide made in the liver from three other amino acids- glycine, cysteine and glutamic acid. It plays important roles throughout the whole body, to include: DNA synthesis and repair, protein and prostaglandin synthesis, amino acid transport, metabolism of toxins and carcinogens, immune system function, prevention of oxidative cell damage, and enzyme activation.
For the rest of us:
It plays an important role in every cell of our body. It is a potent anti-oxidant and plays a role in repairing damaged DNA. A deficiency in glutathione has been found to be associated with aging, cancer cells, asthma, poor skin elasticity, and some neurodegenerative disorders.
How do you get a deficiency?
Alcohol consumption, aspartame (fake sweeteners), household chemicals (fabric softeners, cleaning agents), certain chemicals in the environment, and aging in general, to name a few.
Can you just take a supplement?
Yes you can, but the body does not absorb it well. Glutathione injections or through an IV are better able to be used by the body.
Where can I get an injection?
I know a place….
