Dr. Mitchell also studies functional medicine and this care is available to our patients for an additional cost. Dr. Dickinson is learning more about this type of medicine as well.
Functional medicine uses knowledge of how the body works as a whole and how the individual systems and environment can affect each other. Treatment is focused first on lifestyle changes, nutrition, gut health and balancing the hormones to allow the body to heal itself. If necessary, supplements and medications are also utilized. *Please note that Dr. Mitchell does not treat chronic pain with opioids. Other options and weaning from these medications will be offered/ suggested and she continues to educate herself on other pain-relieving modalities for her patients.
