Common Questions That I Have Been Asked (so far)

Q: Do you take insurance?

A: I do not bill insurance to be seen in my clinic. I would rather spend time with you than be on the phone with your insurance company. I would rather save you money than pay someone (a lot of) money to do billing and coding. That is the nature of DPC (Direct Primary Care)! I do recommend a catastrophic plan (for major emergencies, a serious health condition) or a health sharing ministry plan. I do my best to keep everything as inexpensive as possible for everyone. If you have health insurance, you can absolutely use it for any medications, blood tests, xrays, specialist visits, etc.

Q: Do you accept Medicare patients?

A: At this time, I cannot accept Medicare patients. I plan to in the future, but at this moment I am still enrolled with Medicare as a provider. This means it is illegal for me to see someone with Medicare and NOT bill Medicare. If you have Medicare and would like to enroll in my clinic in the future, please email me via my website and I will add you to a special list.

Q: Do you do women’s health?

A: Absolutely! I (unfortunately) cannot practice obstetrical care at this time, however.

Q: Do you do stitches?

A: Yep, I do that!

Q: Do you see kids?

A: Yep, I do that, too!

Q: Do you refuse to see unvaccinated people?

A: Of course not. I officially recommend vaccinations to keep our population safe and maintain herd immunity against some dangerous infections, but as long as you are informed of the risks, what you do with your body is your decision. You still deserve quality healthcare!

Q: Do you do telemedicine visits?

A: Yes, I do that! I do think that there are some instances where being seen in-person is more appropriate (how can I diagnose an ear infection without looking in your ear?), and I will do my best to get you in to the clinic for a face-to-face as soon as possible.

Q: Do you work with small business owners/ employers?

A: Yes, I would love to meet with any business owner to explain how I can provide value to their employee plans and would be happy to discuss pricing. Please contact me!

Q: My old doctor said that functional medicine is ”snake oil” medicine. Is that true?

A: Of course not! My functional medicine training is another tool that I use to offer natural and more holistic options in your treatment. It does not mean that I have abandoned my traditional training or that I don’t prescribe medications. For more information, feel free to check out www.ifm.org

Additionally, for those registered as members of my clinic, this type of care is INCLUDED in your monthly membership. Purely functional medicine clinics can cost upwards of $300 just for an initial consultation (which, honestly, is STILL worth it).

More to come as the questions arise!!! Thanks everyone, keep them coming!
